When you connect a database to Simpl., your connection credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before being stored. We take the security of your database credentials seriously:

  • Connection strings are encrypted with unique initialization vectors
  • Your actual database data is never stored on our servers; it is queried in real-time and displayed directly in your browser
  • Schema metadata is cached temporarily to improve performance, with a configurable refresh interval
  • All database queries are executed with timeouts to prevent abuse

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Simpl. service
  • Store and retrieve your saved database connections
  • Remember your table layout preferences
  • Send you technical notices and service updates
