Keyboard Shortcuts

Navigate Simpl faster with keyboard shortcuts designed for power users.

Overview

Simpl includes keyboard shortcuts for common actions, allowing you to browse and navigate without using the mouse.

Accessing the Shortcuts Reference

Press ? at any time to open the keyboard shortcuts dialog, which shows all available shortcuts.

List View Navigation

Record Selection

As you navigate with j/k, the currently selected record is highlighted. Press Enter to open it.

Vim-Style Navigation

Simpl uses vim-inspired navigation keys:

  • j - Down (next)
  • k - Up (previous)

This allows efficient one-handed navigation familiar to vim users.

Tips for Efficient Navigation

Browse Without Mouse

  1. Use j/k to scan through records
  2. Press Enter to open interesting records
  3. Press Escape to close and continue
  4. Use / to search when you know what you want

Quick Record Review

For reviewing multiple records:

  1. Open detail view with Enter
  2. Press j to advance to next record
  3. Review continues without closing modal
  4. Press Escape when done

Search Workflow

  1. Press / to start searching
  2. Type your query
  3. Results filter automatically
  4. Use j/k to navigate results
  5. Enter to open a result

Keyboard Accessibility

Focus Management

Simpl maintains logical focus order:

  • Tab through interactive elements
  • Enter activates focused elements

Customization
