Team Collaboration

Share database connections with your team securely, without sharing credentials.

Overview

Simpl allows you to invite teammates to access your database connections. Each team member gets their own account and can explore data based on their assigned permission level.

Why Team Features?

No Credential Sharing

Instead of sharing database passwords or connection strings, invite teammates by email. They access the database through Simpl using their own account.

Role-Based Access

Assign appropriate permissions to each team member:

  • Viewers can browse and search data
  • Editors can also modify records inline

Centralized Management

As the connection owner, you maintain full control:

  • Invite and remove team members at any time
  • Change permissions as needed
  • Revoke access instantly

How It Works

1. Connect Your Database

First, add your database connection to Simpl. You become the owner of this connection.

2. Invite Team Members

From any table view, open the team panel and invite colleagues by email. Choose their permission level.

3. They Accept the Invitation

Invited members receive an email with a secure link. They sign in (or create an account) and gain access to the connection.

4. Collaborate

Team members can now explore the database based on their permissions. The connection appears in their dashboard alongside their own connections.

What Team Members See

Dashboard View

Shared connections appear in the dashboard with a "Shared by" indicator showing who owns the connection.

Table Access

Team members can browse all tables in the connection's schema. They see the same data as the owner, filtered by any active filters.

Permission Indicators

The interface shows the current user's access level, making it clear what actions are available.
